Retail

Here are some of my favourite retail sites, including auctions, as well as information on some of them.

General Shopping Info

Here's the latest all-purpose general article from PC World regarding online shopping - 12/99

Some Regular buying sites for DVD's, CD's and such would be  800.com , and  buy.com .

Auctions

Comprehensive Auction Information - Article detailing how to win at Online auctions, along with links to other auction related articles (taken from PCWorld).  Here's another article dealing with more  business to business auctions

    Best Picks:    Ebay
                      Amazon

Free Stuff - Coupons

Free Stuff on the net - can't be beat!  It's worth dropping in on this site before finally putting your order in because this site has links to some coupon sites which might get you an additional % off, like  ebates.com.

Shopping Bots

Shopping Bots are very useful when trying to buy an item on the 'net - they search several sites for specific items and list prices - I bought a 32" Toshiba High quality TV on the net for only $599 using this - including no shipping!  Here's a good article with several 'bots listed.  The first step would be to read up on reviews for the product you want - either use  about.com, Deja or  ehowto find information on what you want, unless you already know what you want.  When you figure out what it is, note down the type or serial number of the product and run it through several of these 'bots.  Make sure to review the complete prices - some of the sites offer deals for free shipping or throw in some extras, so the lowest price isn't necessarily the best deal.

Aggregators

Web Retailer Aggregators are yet another way to shop - they start with a low price on a product, then the more people that register to buy the product, the lower the price goes until the deadline is reached.  The advice on this would be to wait until the deadline is close, check on the price and if it is low enough, bid on the product.

    Best Picks:     Mercata
